Super day on the St Johns river and neighboring creeks with Airboat Captain Becca! Enjoyed this Fun and educational trip by Dads and College Boys. Pack a small cooler and sunscreen!

My son wanted more of an adventure than looking at wildlife in a zoo or park setting, so I found this attraction on Trip Advisor. While we didn’t see a gator, we learned lots about them from our awesome Capt. Mike! He is a gifted entertainer who had all of us laughing and learning about the St. John’s River ecosystem. There was plenty of other wildlife, and my son also loved speeding around open water on the airboat. You will get wet! We were not even in the front of the boat but from past experience brought dry clothes for the drive back. People at the home base Trout Creek Fish Camp are also very friendly, we had a couple cold ones and soda for my son from the camp store before the trip. Lots of turns along the way so arrive early, our party left without guests who were late for departure. We would definitely do this again!

Though we do not always see the big critters out in the wild, you can rest assured that they are watching our every move!!! Learking just inches below the surface with high hopes that someone jumps from the boat!!!! :-) And even when no gator sightings occur, we try our best to make the tour as fun and exciting as possible. Come see us in March, April, and May if you get a chance, as Mother Nature has the gators at attention on the waters edge, and the snakes are hanging from the trees!!!! Yikes!!!! Oh no,,,,,,,,,,,the sky was getting darker and darker as we pulled away from the dock. Yup, it was time for some FL liquid sunshine. My tiny umbrella helped keep my phone dry. Our "captain" said that he'd go really fast when it stopped so we'd dry off quickly and he was correct. Over earphones (to muffle sound of airboat motor) we heard tales and history of the area as we went up little tributaries to view nature close up. There were all sizes of alligators and turtles sunning themselves on tree limbs. We also saw some birds of prey. Every so often, a fish would jump up. Because of the tannin in the water, it isn't possible to see the bottom. Our trip was over way too quickly - the 2 hours just flew by.
