This was my fourth time taking the airboat tour. Whenever I have relatives/friends visiting the area I always steer them towards Sea Serpent Tours, and I always go along too, because it is that much fun! Capt. Mike is worth the price of admission by himself! So knowledgeable and personable, you feel like you are BFF's from the moment you show up. The tour itself is remarkable. Capt. Mike points out the coolest things, from birds to plants, trees, fish, etc. I've seen alligators each time I've gone. This is a part of Florida most people never get to see, and it is fascinating. You put on headsets and listen to a safety briefing, then a little corny tale about Captain Blount and the treasures that could/could not be lying somewhere in the swamp....Best part is when you take the headsets off and listen to Capt. Mike's stories. The airboat itself is loud, but very comfortable. Great way to spend your tourist dollars. Beats the trolley and the ghost tours in St. Augustine by a mile!

We had a blast on the Sea Serpent Tour of St. Johns River. It's an easy drive from Jacksonville or St. Augustine. We took the first boat (11 AM) of the day and there were a total of 13 guests on the boat - three seats holding four comfortably and my son in the back with the captain. While the boat is going fast, you wear headphones with music and local legends piped in while you get across the big part of the water and into the back part of the river and its tributaries. At first, I thought it was going to be cheesy - all lore and props. But I was wrong. Once the boat got out of the lake, that's when the ride really gets interesting. The captain slowed down and knew where to look for alligators, snakes, birds, etc. The turtles were everywhere! We took off our headphones and he shared a lot of information regarding the region and the animals and people who lived there. On the way back as we got back to the big part of the water, he turned the boat sideways to jump over the waves the boat was making. Fun and scary! Take the airboat and see Florida like most never do when they spend all their time at the beach. You'll be glad you did.

What a brilliant afternoon on the St John's River with out Captain Mike. The tour was fantastic and the guide was perfect. Saw Gators, Turtles and lots of other wildlife. Kids loved it and so did the parents!
