OK we got a boat ride out of it, after cajoling the drivers who just wanted to stay in the bay.
The scams are non-stop. The advertised price for bowfront (best seats) were $30 each, so $60 for the two of us. I ended up paying just over $100.
There is the "fuel surcharge" scam, added just a moment before clicking the purchase button. There were undefined "taxes and fees" much higher than any other attraction, restaurant or hotel in O.C. we visited. There are the two drivers who insisted repeatedly they were paid on tips same as bartenders. Really?? Are the staff of a licensed, regulated oceangoing commercial vehicle with seventy people aboard paid a few dollars an hour plus tips?
Then they didn't want to go to sea, just cruise in the bay, until the passengers started yelling at them.
And now I am badgered repeatedly by email and text to leave a review. Well OK scammers, you got one!
