On April 9, 1846, Hawthorne was sworn in as surveyor of Salem at a salary of $1,200 per year, a decent salary at the time. We enjoyed hearing the history and ghost tales to go along with the sights we saw. We sidetracked to go through the Salem Witch Museum before picking up again.

Steven was an excellent guide. Not just stories and lore, but theatrical too. We even caught some paranormal events on film.
