Joe was our guide and he was very personable. I was a little disappointed tho as the description of the tour was "Rock and Roll" and he started off by telling us most of the tour would be centered around Bob Dylan who I don't exactly classify as R&R per se. He did cover a few other ppl briefly but I had been hoping for more about the Punk, New Wave, and real R&R musicians.

My husband and I had a great tour with Gabi - ended up being the only ones on the tour, so it was great to have the personalized experience! She was very knowledgeable and shared with us a lot of great history along with interesting stories of the area. We were able to appreciate a part of NYC that we'd not spent a lot of time in before. The tour meandered through quiet residential streets, the Washington Square park, past NYU buildings and some fun/tasty looking pizza and other food-related places. The tour mentioned a number of people who championed causes throughout the history of Greenwich Village, including gay/lesbian notable figures and places of interest. We learned about the 3 styles of pizza that exist in NYC, a fun remnant of an ownership battle b/w the city and private landowner, and saw Aaron Burr's residence which now houses the ultra-romantic restaurant One If By Land, Two If By Sea. Overall it was a great tour and we really enjoyed it - we'd recommend it to anyone looking to learn a broad range of GV's history.
