The sled dog tour was part of the "Real Alaska Tour" that we booked through the Alaska Railroad. This was probably my best experience in all of my 12 days in Alaska. Joe Allen, the bus driver, did a fantastic job - he really gave us a good feel for the "real Alaska" by sharing lots of personal knowledge and stories. He was super helpful and really tried to make this a wonderful experience for us all. All of the stops along the way (Exit Glacier, the salmon spawning area, tour of town, and lunch stop) were great! Of course, the sled dog ride and tour were fantastic! Got to hold puppies and learn about what running the Iditarod is really like. Rode on cart pulled by a team of 14 dogs - this is how the dogs are kept in shape and trained during the off-season. I learned a lot and have the best time!
