Great, wonderful, marvelous! Our family of 6 joined Seavey's IdidaRide Sled Dog Real Alaska Tour on early August, 2013. It was well worth it! We learned about the dog camp, the race, the equipment and training necessary for the Ididarod Race. The dog sled ride was awesome! My 15 years old daughter actually burst into tears of excitement and thanked me for bringing her to here (usually she complaint on everything). Patting the puppies was another highlight. The tour provided lunch at Resurrection restaurant. Food was wonderful. After lunch, we continued to Exit Glacier. Our tour guide suggested 3 hiking routes: rewarding, easy or aarp-like. We took the rewarding one which actually went up-n-down but not too difficult cliff-edge and icy water creek and finally led us to glacier edge - really rewarding as we could touch the glacier and drink the glacier water. This is the FUN-FUN and MUST-GO tour in Seward!

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We took their 6 hour Real Alaska Tour and our tour guide Joe Allen was great!. He also gave some great suggestions for other tours in the Kenai Peninsula area, which we plan to explore next year. As for the Seavey's IdidaRide Sled Dog Tours, it was very informative and entertaining, little did we realize the science that goes into dog sled mushing. We got to meet many of the dogs in the kennel and on the dog sled ride, but the highlight was being to cuddle with 3 day old Alaskan Husky puppies. So cool! They also took us on a hike to Exit Glacier and to see salmon spawning. The lunch they provided, at the restaurant, was one of best meals we had in Alaska and had a breathtaking view. If you do nothing else in Seward, take this tour!

This tour was arranged on recommendation of our local travel agent with connections to the area. We arrived by Northbound Ship (Inside Passage) and took the free shuttle to nearby the train station where we checked our bags & stored our carry-on(s) conveniently until we needed access to them after the tour. Our guide, Joe, was the most sincere and focused tour guide I have ever experienced; very good communicator, very good at explaining what we were experiencing & very good at adding real life meaning to it all. He had the utmost respect for the Seavey family that operates the sled dog operations in conjunction with Real Alaska tours. Very impressive to see that Mr. Seavey was the oldest person to win the IdidaRod in 2013 and his son was the youngest to win it the year before!!
