Giselle is extremely knowledgeable about New Orleans, with a super cool French accent. She is a very responsible driver, carting us from downtown NOLA, to the swamp and awesome air boats, Hank the gator (cold... not many gators), Bob the bird, and 5 bald eagles.
Then as we were driving to Laura plantation, Giselle spotted three more bald eagles.
Laura house is run by history anthropologists, and helps put history of Creole peoples into perspective. The Creole style house is beautiful , built by the best carpenters from Africa.
Houma house is a great example of American style plantation, run by Irish, who set their slaves free, before the Civil War. When the north showed up and demanded all slaves be presented, all people of color had been set free years earlier.
This is a well structured tour, led by our lovable Gisselle, who knew everything I asked, except cedar tree seeds.
