The history and beauty of these Grand homes was amazing. Our tour guide was very informative and very passionate.
We did the Air boat ride as well and Captain Gary was so amusing he made up for the lack of wildlife and the freezing temperature.
Dillon our tour guide was excellent and very informative. It was an early start but a fun packed day. The swamp boat adventure was really good fun, unfortunately we had a cold day in December so no alligators. The plantation tours were excellent and lunch at the plantation was really good. We were driven around in a very comfortable people carrier with only 10 people on our day trip, would throughly recommend this trip.
The High Speed Airboat trip was okay and could have been much better had it been a little warmer out. Fortunately our guide (Captain Gary) was entertaining and very knowledgable on Louisiana so he made it a more enjoyable tour. The Laura Plantation tour was packed and uninteresting. The tour of Oak Alley was much more interesting however, there were at least 40-50 people on the tour and we were herded from room to room like cattle. It was impossible to see anything or take a couple of pictures as we were rushed through the tour in order to accomodate the one right behind us. The lunch at the restaurant at Oak Alley was very good as well as the service. The day trip was not worth the almost $200 per person charge.
