Going to two plantations and comparing the English and French way of doing thing was really interesting. Seeing the slave quarters was an eye opener. It was very rushed and the tour guide was a little snappy when the first plantation tour ran over time (not our fault).
The swamp tour was a scenic float through the swamp. We saw plenty of alligators.
We loved this tour!!! Ellen was an extraordinary tour guide. The Laura Plantation was the highlight of the three stops, but all of them were interesting.
We signed up for the airboat combination tour but the airboat did not fill up so we were given the pontoon boat ride instead. We were fine with the change as the captain was quite a character with many interesting stories and facts and made it fun. The plantation tours were quite interesting and the lunch was fantastic. We got some great pictures throughout the day. Our tour was provided by Isabella Tours and our van driver was Ellen. Ellen was a lot of fun. One thing to note; the ride from New Orleans to the first leg (boat ride) of the tour was about 1.5 hours and about the same coming back.
