We've created a fascinating kayak tour in St Pete, centered on our Crystal Clear kayaks, giving you a fascinating look at the sea life throughout Shell Key preserve, and Fort Desoto park. Our professional guides provide an interesting narration of the local wildlife and ecosystem. The tours can range from 2 persons to 16 people, and are approximately 2 to 2 -1/2 hours long. The tours will primarily operate in the protected waters and mangroves tunnels of the Shell Key Wildlife Preserve in Pinellas County. An 1,800 acre preserve, these waters are well traveled by Dolphins, Manatees, Rays, as well as a variety of shore birds, including pelicans, egrets, herons, cormorants, osprey, and sometimes roseate spoonbills.

Please note: This activity is NOT suitable for the Elderly or the Obese, or people with back surgeries/issues, or with a history of other physical ailments. You must be physically fit for participate in this activity.

This was our third time doing the clear bottom kayak tour with Island Ferry. We went out with Stephen and Raina (sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly). They kept our group safe and were very knowledgeable of the Shell Key Preserve. They answered our questions and helped our tour to be a fantastic experience. We saw a dolphin, cormorants, pelicans, and other water wildlife. Keep in mind that all wildlife sightings will vary from trip to trip. This tour continues to be a highlight of our trip every time we have visited the area. Definitely recommend it! Side note: be prepared to spend 2+ hours on the tour - mostly in the kayak (bringing water is required; sunscreen strongly recommended).

It was my first time kayaking 🙂 Greg and Olivia were great! Next time I'll bring extra bottled water. Definitely, need to stay hydrated and be prepared to fill the burn in your arms 💪The views were amazing! It was fun!

Dalton and Craig were great guides on our 20-person kayak tour to Shell Island. They were patient with such a big and diverse group, and knowledgeable about the area and ecosystem. It was the highlight of the weekend family reunion for many of us!
