Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

Captain Emerson and Matt found us a small group of Manatees to float with up close. They answered all the questions we had and made our tour a once in a life time experience! The girls in the office were so kind to watch our dogs so we could make this tour possible.....Thank you!

What a wonderful experience! Though August is not the ideal time of year to see manatee, we did! From the initial phone call to make reservations, to ordering the photos taken on the trip and everything in between, the staff was delightful. The instructional video was very informative, coached people/parents/kids of what to expect and how to behave in the water. The changing rooms to get into wetsuits were clean, they offered to keep keys safely at the shop so they didn’t get wet. Roomy van to transport you on a very short drive to the marina to board the pontoon boat. Our trip was scheduled for 06:30, pretty early for vacation, but so worth waking up early! Captain Mike and guide JJ were so gracious and informative. Coffee, hot chocolate ( mixed half and half for a Mike u ccino), soft drinks, water, beer, wine and snacks. Masks and snorkels are provided, we brought our own, no fins needed. Manatee were spotted right away, a female with some younger males hanging around. Such quiet, gentle animals; felt so privileged to be floating next to them. We also went to Jurassic Springs and then back in Kings Bay to swim with the Tarpon and manatee again. I would highly recommend the little extra money to be in a smaller group on the VIP tour, we were a group of six. Quick in and out of the water between locations, didn’t feel like you were crowding each other or the manatee. Such FUN!

Captain Troy and Captain Dave took us on a most awesome Manatee adventure. They were great and showed our family a great time. Knowledgeable, fun and a great team. We had the joy of seeing a Mom and baby on our tour. The whole team was awesome from check in to check out!!!! Highly recommended these guys!!!! And the pictures are phenomenal!! Thank you guys for a wonderful time💜
