Swimming with manatees with Explorida was amazing! We (37/f and 37/m) did this excursion in early November before the river became areas of the Crystal River became roped off for the season so had freedom to explore areas that we wouldn't be able to visit if we were to visit about 2 weeks later. We encountered a total of 5 manatees on our excursion, 2 babies and 3 adults. The babies and one of the adult manatees were incredibly interactive with our small group and everyone had a wonderful time. The water was fairly cold when we first got it, but we get used to it quickly. If you've never snorkeled, it might take a bit to get used to the gear. I'm glad it was just the two of us that did the excursion and that we didn't bring our kids with us for it. I'm confident my 11 year old would have been able to eventually get the hang of the scuba gear and enjoy the excursion, but I'm not sure if my 6 year old would have done well with the snorkeling part. Our guide, Kristen, and our Captain, Steve, were knowledgable, friendly, and made the entire experience worthwhile. Kenz in the gift shop was super helpful too! Would definitely recommend, and hope to do again!
