Don't miss this history/cultural tour if you have from 7:30-1:30 on Sunday available. (Tour also available Thursdays) Our guide and bus driver, Jim, was very informative making it a great morning sharing the history of SLC. It started with a tour of the Temple neighborhood, then the Tabernacle Choir Performance from 9:30-10 am where we arrived by 9 to get excellent seating. After the performance, he slowly drove us past important SLC sites. We did a quick inside tour of the Utah Capital (rotunda) building which is made of granite and Georgia marble. Jim told us about the historical background of the competition to build the nicest church in the early 1900's and about the success of the gold/silver/copper mining industry. There were several quick photo stops for those that wished to snap the beautiful scenery. We stopped at the Mormon Trail State Park (This is the Place - Brigham Young). For those that wanted lunch at 12:30, he dropped those patrons off at a restaurant and then took the remaining people back to the hotel. Jim then returned to the restaurant and picked them up, returning them back to their starting spot at approximately 1:30. Don't miss this opportunity - well worth your time.
