The Lion King

The Lion King musical tells the Hamlet-like tale of Simba, prince of African lions, who battles his evil Uncle Scar for the throne. But before Simba can take his rightful place in the "Circle of Life", he grows up with his two fun-loving friends, wisecracking meerkat Timon and smelly warthog Pumbaa. Together they teach Simba their philosophy of life, "Hakuna Matata" (No Worries). Based on the 1994 Disney film, and book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, the musical includes the Oscar-winning song "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." Additional songs are by Hans Zimmer, Lebo M, Mark Mancina and Jay Rifkin. This visual feast is famous for director Julie Taymor's complex animal-puppet-human fusion, and is loved by audiences of all ages.

I am so glad we booked with Viator. Had seats FOUR rows from the front. Extraordinary show, choreography was probably the best I've seen. Ten out of ten for the whole experience!

I requested handicapped seating - or at least a seat on an aisle or couple of seats in from an aisle- but did not receive it. I got what would have otherwise been considered a fantastic seat. Very close to the stage, but smack in the middle of a row. I could not sit or even move comfortably due to my disability and ended up leaving at intermission. The ushers told me it was a sold-out show, and offered me a folding chair at the very back of the hall. I did sit (and stand) at the back of the theater for the remainder of the performance. I would not recommend using this service to purchase theater tickets if you are disabled and require special accommodation. Viator guarantees a ticket, but that's pretty much it. You could sit anywhere. As for the show itself, it was very good. I would have enjoyed it more under different circumstances.

Thank you for your feedback. We've heard back from our tour operator concerning this reservation, and wanted to respond to your concerns about the seating.

We are advised that the seat you were given in this show were located in the limited mobility section. The seats are moveable to accommodate wheelchairs when needed. The location of your seat was only 4 off of the aisle. Considering how frequently this play sells out, and the last minute nature of your booking request, we feel that the theater and our operator have done all that they could to be accommodating to your request.

For the comfort of yourself, and any future guests who may need special seating, we do advise making your bookings as early as possible to give the theater an ample amount of time, and open seating, to accommodate your request.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, but we do hope this information helps. We do hope you had an excellent time on your trip to New York.
