We have been going on this field trip for over 25 years. We used another local Whale Watching Excursion before but it does not compare to Dana Wharf. The captain of the boat is extremely informative and patient with our children. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Yesterday was exceptional as we saw four Whales with close up views of Breaching, Tail fins, Blowing and more! On the rare occasion that we do not see Whales, the captain seems to know a place where all the dolphins hang out and put on an incredible show. The Sea Lions are great to see. We hope to continue our tradition of the Kindergarten Whale Watching Field Trip for a long time! Thanks Dana Wharf Whale Watching!

This past Saturday I joined my daughter and her girls ( age 6 and 9) down at Dana Point Wharf. Wyland Foundation was doing a special class for young people to learn and draw pictures of Whales & dolphins. the winner of the drawing contest is to win a Wyland painting valued at $2000, great experience for the girls. After that we were taken out on a 2 hours Whale watching trip at 10 AM, It was wonderful, the waters were very calm. I am not sure how far out we went put we had pods of dolphins following us all the way and it was great, we even saw baby dolphins with their parents. We only saw 2 whales and they were very shy but the experience was great and the captain was very knowledageable and the crew was great. Want to do this again with my husband. We went to Henry's Seafood restaurant afterwards which is on the wharf just across the way. I had a Asian Pear and Walnut salad that was delicious and very inexpensive. I highly recommend them, the food and staff were great.
