Even with the very unfortunate news, we had a great time and Paul did an outstanding job on the mike. Highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to learn more about PWF and the whales.

We have done this exact whale watch twice. The first time we lucked out and saw many whales, this time only a few. Obviously this is no fault of the company's. We thought the crew was fantastic. Very knowledgeable! Our main guide had a marine biology degree and she knew what she was talking about). It was nice to be able to hear the crew members speaking clearly though the speaker system, regardless of where we were standing on the boat. Our main issue is the amount of time it takes to load passengers. It is PAINFULLY SLOW. They make each party take a photograph before loading, obviously this is to make money off trying to sell them ($20) as you exit at the end of the tour. But it left us standing outside of the boat for close to half an hour. Standing there in the blazing sun for that amount of time really didn't make for a good start to our trip. My kids ended up hot, tired and all of us a little grumpy even before we boarded. I should say though, my kids loved Dillon (my 9 year old said he was his "favourite") as he did a special presentation for all the kids on board. Great job crew. :)

Our whale watching trip was fantastic. There was a good briefing before boarding the boat, complete with information on using sunscreen that is safe for the environment. The Ocean Discovery was pretty full, but as far as I could tell everyone had a good view. My party of 3 ended up at the very back of the boat, which was actually perfect. Not only could we see to the sides, but we could turn completely around and comfortably view everything behind us as well. We saw so many whales that by the end of the trip, no one was calling out a sighting unless it was a full breach. The commentary was fun and informative. I would go whale watching with Pacific Whale Foundation again in a heartbeat.
