Guaranteed Sightings! 7 Seas Whale Watch is located in the heart of historic downtown Gloucester, MA and in one of the busiest parts of Gloucester harbor. As soon as you board the Privateer you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of Gloucester’s working waterfront. You may see fishing boats unloading fish, lobster men baiting and setting their traps, and perhaps even some of our indigenous wildlife such as Harbor seals, Gray seals, and various species of birds. The tour begins with a harbor tour of Gloucester Harbor starting with Cape Pond Ice (which most of you have seen on Wicked Tuna and ends at the Dog Bar Breakwater. A typical trip is anywhere from 3-4 hours but may be extended if the whales move further out for feed. The Privateer IV was built for 300 passengers but we only book to 150 to ensure the comfort and safety of our passengers and is equipped with restrooms, and on-board food Galley and bar.

We got so lucky on our whale watching trip with the humpback whales we were fallowing for most of the time. The staff were very knowledgeable and not only made this a sight seeing experience but a learning experience as well. We will be looking forward to the next whale watching adventure we go on.

This was our family's first whale watch and it was well worth it. We took the 8:30 trip and though it took about an hour or a little more to spot our first whale the captain didn't let us down. We saw two humpbacks named Shuffleboard and Jabaroo and several Minkies. The whales were amazing. Since our captain found the whales they do let the other boat companies know so they can all enjoy their trip as well. However we got to enjoy them on our own for a while. They give you tons of info over loud speakers which was hard to hear on the back of the boat but easy to walk around to hear. Staff came around to show different things and the kids all got to drive the boat on the way back. My son loved it. They really let him steer and taught him the difference between starboard and port which is right and left!! Great views of the harbor even on a foggy morning. Clean restrooms heated inside and an overall great time for all. We are 40 yrs old with a 20 year old and 8 year old and all had a blast!!

We had a beautiful day on the water seeing 4 humpbacks and a 500 strong pod of dolphins. Beyond seeing these wonderful creatures - the knowledge from the crew through tour was amazing - and my whole family learned a lot from the trip! Adults and kids ages 6-10. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
