  • Check-in is 15 minutes prior to start time.
  • If the guest needs a wheelchair lift equipped bus, then special arrangements need to be made with the supplier. This must be arranged 48 hours prior to tour date. Contact details will be on your voucher.
  • Guests visiting Whitney using a wheelchair will have access to the gift shop, restrooms, and museum. The plantation grounds are accessible; however, there are uneven gravel paths. The main house tour is not accessible to guest traveling in wheelchairs and is not required to be modified as it is a historic home; however, the first floor is accessible. Guests would be able to view the slave quarters, but would not have access to enter.

This tour was absolutely fantastic and definitely worth the money. From the get-go, our bus driver and tour guide Ken had tons of stories and interesting facts about everything we drove past. He was also hilarious and made the trip so much fun. The Whitney itself was a beautifully-maintained site and fascinating to explore. Our guide Ali was amazing. He was passionate, knowledgeable and excellent at communicating. He also took a big-picture approach to the tour and explained a lot about the context and lasting impacts of slavery on the plantations, which was engaging and highly relevant. We can’t recommend his tour highly enough. Overall: DO THIS TOUR. One of the highlights of our USA trip.

Visiting the Whitney Plantation was impactful, informative, hard, empowering and so much more. Our tour guide on the plantation, Yvonne, was excellent. She delivered the information and facilitated the tour in a powerful and classless way. Peggy our overall guide and George, our driver, provided great customer service.
