I won’t go into detail about the wild ride over Elephant Hill, SOB Hill and Silver Stairs - it’s an ‘E‘ ticket ride worth every penny. I had no idea one could do such extreme things with a 4 x 4 and still get home! Our driver/ guide Charlotte did a first rate job safely driving us all day as well as providing geology & history background and funny comments/ stories throughout the day. Highly recommend Charlotte! My wife and I are average senior hikers, we do 2 mile moderate hikes/ dog walks per day at home and occasionally knock out a 4-5 mile moderate hike but weren’t sure we’d be able to walk the “slot” hike without slowing the others down. The hike was easier than we anticipated. Charlotte maintained a reasonable pace and the main challenge was on the return trip back in navigating down a short section of steep rocks above a short narrow log ramp where it was challenging to see where to put your feet. Charlotte and our fellow hiker Phil (thanks Phil!) helped my wife and I navigate the hidden steps. Walking the long narrow deep slot portions of the hike was a total trip and the Chesler Park view at the mid point was incredible. Best part is we never saw another person outside our group thru the entire hike - a true “wilderness experience” for us suburb dwellers! Would definitely recommend you add this tour to your bucket list and go with Navtec, you won’t regret it.

We went one day and turned around at the admission stopping point due to the fog. Went another day and had fog again. Due to traveling time to get here, we decided to take a hike. We were by ourselves, and the fairy flat hike was 2 miles or less. We loved the shrubbery and the incredible snow/ice hanging on the trees, shrubs, flowers. We encouraged the quick visit to the visitor's center. Please note, no dogs are allowed innational parks.

I didn’t really understand what exactly the tour consisted of. Off-road Jeep tour... who knew it would be mind blowing the places we would drive through and to? Our guide, MC, is a true professional. He was extremely informative about everything geological and historical including where to eat and other side trips. MC is a professional and very talented driver demonstrated by his ability to safely, patiently, and capably navigate some of the most challenging “roads” (I call them mountains of rock). If you are looking for an adventure and to go to areas only accessible by this method, I recommend it. Be aware it is not for the faint of heart. If MC is an example of the quality of guides they hire, you can’t go wrong.
