What a great tour! Our guide, Mark Jones, was tremendous. I could easily spend an entire day with him, walking about Charleston, and hearing the historical details of the city. It was a thoroughly enjoyable outing.

Lawrence really makes this tour great! He is the consummate Charleston gentleman with a great knowledge of the city. The alleys and passageways are on uneven surfaces to be sure to wear comfy, supportive shoes. Lawrence was very patient when the village idiot on his phone traipsed right through our group with his two black labs. The tour took us to spots we never would have found on our own. We learned about history, local laws, and hometown heroes. Lawrence is too polite to discuss politics, but if he had, we would have agreed with him! He gave a great restaurant recommendation too! We LOVED this tour. Jim was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgable both about the history and current information relative to the tour itself and quite literally anything else you asked him. I'm not normally one to enjoy historical tours, but these two hours flew by, and we left with recommendations for drinks, restaurants, other tours and sight seeing. We loved that this tour gave a look more into the residential and architectural aspects of Charleston, versus focusing so heavily on the founding and war aspects that is common in other tours. More than worth the time and money!
