We are repeat customers of Capt Dave's Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari and if we needed any reminder of why, today's excursion was a fantastic reminder. They are first class from the time you book to the time you leave the boat with yummy Mrs. Dave's triple fudge brownies. Our Captain, Alex, navigated the ocean beautifully, keeping in touch with neighboring boats to make sure he did the best job possible to find dolphins and whales. Our "first mate" Neal (also a Captain) was a fantastically well-informed and incredible host, sharing tons of great information and also working to insure we had a great time and that the "Safari" lived up to its name. And it DEFINITELY did. We were treated to a pod of over 300 dolphin AND thanks to Alex and Neal's persistence, we saw a Blue Whale!!! Highly recommend! They deserve all the great reviews they receive!

- Small boat excursion, so everyone has a good view if desired. - Highly knowledgable crew who teach about the animals as you go along. - Underwater viewing pods not always operational to see animals, but fun when opened to passengers just the same, so you get get the idea of what it might be like... - Bring your own water and snacks; It can get choppy so might not be good for those who easily get motion sick.

We make sure conditions are safe and that we are among the animals, before opening up the Pods, and it's great they enhanced your experience. Conditions in Dana Point are usually mild, but for anyone concerned about feeling unwell, we recommend the early morning trips when the ocean is calmer. We appreciate the positive feedback about our crew, and the high rating. We would love to see you for another exciting trip soon!

Absolutely no words. Chuck and Matt were incredible guides. We experienced being in the middle of 3,000 dolphins. We rode 9 miles off the coast into the pod of thousands of dolphins. The dolphins herd together piles of fish to feast on, so the whales follow them. We saw about 10 whales including a humpback whale that accompanied us the whole time, and a finback whale, and a minke whale. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I’m so thankful I got to experience with my kids.
