Reserved a shuttle weeks in advance for a trip from the cruise port to the airport. The latest option available was noon so this is the time we chose. Our flight was not until mid afternoon, so we thought we would check our luggage at the pier and visit the local area for a few hours before heading to the airport. I decided to call VIP about 11:50 to ensure we meet them at the correct pick up location. They told me their pick up time at the pier was 9:00 am. I told them that I have a reservation to be picked up at noon. I am looking at a copy of my reservation with the noon pick up time as I write this review. The lady on the phone had no customer service skills. No admission of their mistake or sense of urgency to fix the problem. Around 12:15 2 VIP shuttles showed up. We were relieved at first. We approached them and they said they were not going to the airport and would not take us. I know we could have taken an expensive taxi but that would have been a last resort. Around 12:45 a different shuttle service pulled up to drop off a couple of passengers. I told the shuttle driver what was going on and asked if he was willing to take us to the airport. He was very gracious and took us to the airport. I wish I remembered the name of that service so that I could give them credit. To top it off, VIP charged me for the trip that they failed to show up for. Now I have to dispute the charge. They also had my cell phone number and certainly didn't call me at the time (9:00) they CLAIMED they were supposed to pick us up. I would never use this company again! We experienced great service everywhere during our trip to 4 different Hawaiian Islands with the exception of VIP travel. They certainly do not fit the Hawaiian culture (or the service industry in general)

VIP transport avoid like the plague! We booked and paid ($25US) this company to take us to the airport 4 days in advance. When you book online you fill in your flight details and they suggest with international you be at the airport 3 hours earlier. All this information was filled in so they had all our details. Our flight time of 10:30am and a pickup of 7:45am. 8:00am and no bus. We called them only to find they thought our pick-up was 10:30am! After telling them how stupid they are not to read their own website and confirmation email they sent us, they advised another bus would be there “shortly". We waited another 15mins and caught a cab. We were now 30mins behind schedule, bearing in mind it's a week day and we had traffic against us. They are not worth it. We also found out that if you catch a taxi from any hotel to the airport it's a flat rate of $27US + tax!! Take a taxi it's much easier.

I was planning to use it for both round trips this time. The driver who dropped me off when I arrived told me that when I left, I would pick up at the place where I dropped off my outbound flight 3 hours before the departure time of the return flight. No matter how long I waited at the place on the day, I didn't show up and there was no response to my post to the inquiry. I also tried to call from the information (where I could see the pick-up place) but nobody answered or even contacted me. I ended up waiting more than 30 minutes , I posted and phoned many times, but it was pear pebbles, so I gave up and quickly caught a taxi, just in time. The result was a boarding that cost $45$ including tips, was over budget and had no time to spare. As a side note, I didn't even get any response to the question section I sent when I was informed that there wasn't enough information about my departure. Maybe this was the cause. There is no denying that the contact details were wrong in the first place, and I can't tell if VIP or TripAdvisor were to blame.
