I was in town with family (1 child, 3 young adults, and 1 other adult) who wanted to go on a bus tour, so I bought tickets by phone (total: $170) for that day. I gave my address and was told that the closest place to get on the bus was about 8 blocks away. Since we wouldn't be able to get there in time for the next bus, I asked when it would be at the Museum of the American Revolution, which was listed as a stop. I was told noon. We took Lyft to the museum and hung out there for 10-15 minutes before finding out the stop wasn't actually at the museum. We found out from a museum staffer that the museum was between 2 stops. We headed to one of the stops (Front St. & Chestnut) and after waiting fruitlessly, I called the office, which confirmed it was a stop and that we should keep waiting. After waiting for another ~10 minutes, we were told that it would probably be another 20 minutes. I was told there would be a pickup at Independence Hall at 12:30. We hurried to Independence Hall, where there was no bus stop. We eventually found out that the bus stop was a block away and raced there, to find that the bus had just left. The people working for the company showed no sympathy for what we'd gone through. We were told we could get on the bus that would leave at 1 PM. At this point, we were hot and discouraged. We killed time until 1 PM, when we got on the bus. At that point, we received a map and I saw there was a stop right by our hotel we could have used! We rode the bus for a half hour until we got off and had lunch, after which we were out of time and had to take Lyft back to our hotel. It was the worst $170 I ever spent on a vacation.
I recommend against patronizing this business, but, if you do want to use them, I recommend getting on at Independence Bourse, where they leave every half hour, or using a printed map (which you might find at your hotel) to see exactly where they stop. The information online is insufficiently detailed.
