We came back from the attraction with mixed feelings. We don’t regret the trip at all, nevertheless the landscape was not as nice as we would have expected (at least compare to southern Everglades areas).
The speech done during the show was of good quality and very well explaining interesting facts about alligators (even though not very scientific). It was also very understandable for non native English speakers.
The premises and facilities were not in very good shape and not very welcoming. Restrooms were simply disgusting.
The airboat tour was fun. The captain explained a lot of things and tried to give the opportunity to everyone to see what she was showing. Unfortunately, she didn’t dare to speak to facilitate comprehension to non native speakers in majority on the boat.
The boat roof is not transparent and refrains people in the middle to easily see the surroundings.
Wild life was a bit scarce, beside those in exhibition, we saw 2 alligators, a few birds, some fish, trees and water plants.
Weather was good and excursion duration was just long enough.
We took the excursion with transportation included from Miami Beach. It went well, one just need to be patient when picking up other people from other hotels. Don’t expect any interesting touristic information from the guide/driver.
Price for 3 adults was 177 $ plus tips (15% for the chauffeur, a bit for the captain).
In conclusion, if you have the choice, I would rather recommend to try to visit Everglades National Parc.
If you have no choice and never had the chance to visit neither the Everglades or the Louisiana’s Bayou before, this excursion is a good compromise.
