The train can accommodate a motorized scooter if it is no wider than 25 inches. There is a special lift to lift the scooter onto the train.
Please note: Arizona doesn't observe Day Light Savings and switches between MST (Mountain Standard Time) and PST (Pacific Standard Time) depending on the season.

Great Seats going up was a little crowded coming back. We were held by gunpoint by Wild cowboys on the train, But they didn't take over money

Relaxing way to visit the Grand Canyon and save the stress of driving your car and worrying about parking.The trip takes just over 2 hours each way.There is a cowboy show on before the train departs and musicans perform songs on the train.We travelled in coach class and were quite comfortable.You have 3.5 hours at the canyon,which is a good amount of time.There is plenty of cold water on board and activities for the kids.On the way back there was a staged robbery which was quite fun and the kids on board really loved it.We enjoyed the experience except for one thing.My mother is 87.We were told there would be a free shuttle bus that would drop her up to the village.Well we only saw a shuttle that was transferring people to the hotel.So Mum struggled to the top,which left her very short of breath.Same thing happened on way back to train.We approached a shuttle bus but the driver said he was not the free shuttle but to wait and one would be along soon.Well no shuttle turned up and my Mum who was anxious about being late struggled down those stairs.By the time we got the the train she was really wheezy and anxious.Our compartment was right at the end of the train.One of the staff saw us and asked if we wanted wheel chair assistance.I said yes please.My mother was so relieved.She was exhausted.He said 'wait here'Well we waited on the platform and no wheelchair turned up?So off we struggled to the end of the train.The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and did spoil the day somewhat.My Mum never complains but I hated seeing her struggle like that.We have travelled from Australia and up to now have not experienced this treatment towards elderly people.

Our tour hostess Teryl was really sweet. And very informative. Her stories were fun. The musicians and cowboys were a hoot. It really was a nice time.
