This private tour will completely demystify New York's famous subway system. and give you the secret history and inside story of the creation of the original 1904 subway line and how it grew into one of the most extensive transportation systems in the world. All the art, all the history, all the technical breakthroughs, all the "whys" and all the shenanigans that went into this spectacular achievement. This is a unique experience for visitors and locals alike. The tour is approximately 2.5-hours.

We ride the original route and see the most beautiful abandoned station in the world. We will stop at Astor Place, then Grand Central Station and switch to the Shuttle to Times Square. Admission is paid one time only when we enter the system. TIMING IS APPROXIMATE.

Gary was a tremendous guide and a wealth of knowledge. His knowledge and the pace at which he shared was perfect. the photos coupled with what you were looking at right in front of you gave not only a history lesson but in some way helped connect you with the past. Tthere were places we pass through every day that now have a whole new meaning. It was a great experience and well worth it.

Gary is the MTA's greatest ambassador, he loves the subject and it really comes through in his presentation. He brings you through the history of the formation of the subway and how it all came together to create what we have today. We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it!!
