If you'd prefer to continue journeying through Joshua Tree, you can also follow the detour route, which proceeds south through the rest of the park and exits out the southern gate.
107

Lost Horse Mine
The Lost Horse Mine Loop Trail leads to a truly unique spot: the remains of one of the most successful gold mines in the region. This was the best $18 purchase of the trip. Very informative and well planned out. We had been to Joshua Tree once before and did not have this app. It truly enhanced the experience this time around. I recommend it highly

We really enjoyed the self guided tour, it was easy to navigate the park with ease and interest. I thought the information and stories were really interesting. Thoughts for improvement - it is not easy to go back and listen to a post if you missed it. Also, we got out at the Hallowed Halls part and couldn't find it, so if the author could include like which direction to go or where it roughly is that would be helpful.

Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed my Joshua Tree National Park Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour and found the stories and navigation helpful. To avoid missing any stops or audio cutoffs, following the speed limit and route shown on the app is essential—this helps keep everything in sync. You can also use the app manually to replay any stops you want to hear again. Still, I recommend restarting the app after using it manually for the smoothest automatic experience. And since the tour is valid for a year after booking, feel free to revisit anytime and catch up the missed stops!

The self-guided tour made our entire trip worthwhile. My mom and I were able to learn about the park, some of the history, the flora and fauna, and the geography of the area. It honestly could not have been any better.
