Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour

Check-in for the ghost tour is no later than 8:45 at the corner of Duval and Caroline Street in front of the Porter Mansion on the Duval Street side. There is a small booth just at the entrance to the property, at the beginning of the 300 block of Duval Street, and that is where you will do your check-in. At 9pm the guide will depart and walk you down Rose Lane for an introduction to the tour which includes some Key West history, terminology used when talking about different spirit sightings, instructions on how to take pictures, and general guidelines. Key West is Florida's second oldest city and one of the most haunted locations in the country. From Rose Lane you will walk to the end of the block stopping at the Casa Antigua, Ernest Hemingway's first Key West residence where he fell in love with Key West and wrote "A Farewell to Arms". You will hear what happened in this interesting building and the ghostly story about The Watcher. The tour then moves up to Eaton Street to the Artist House where you will hear the story of the creepy, Robert the Doll and see where he used to live. Next the tour moves to Bahama Street where the oldest graveyard is located in back of Saint Paul's Church. You are invited to use the dowsing rods at this point to try to engage spirit activity. Just past the graveyard is the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home. This stop is where the strange tale of Count Von Cosel and Elana is related. This story is stranger than fiction, but it's all true and documented. You now will wind back around to the La Concha Hotel and hear what happened at the tallest building in Key West. It's a ghostly tale, but not what you probably think. Next the tour moves to the Oldest House and Gardens to explore the grounds at the back of the house, and hear stories about the family who lived here and learn about the many ghostly sightings. This is the most active location on the tour and many guests get pictures on their cameras. Finally, the tour moves inside to hear the chilling tale of a prominent Key West family at their former residence. As the tour concludes, there is time for stories and picture sharing. The tour is interactive and questions are encouraged. The tour ends at 10:30 across the street from where it started.

I am very into this stuff and chose this your on a whim. I am so glad I did. The guide, Southern Most Ted, was very knowledgable and funny and serious about the paranormal. He not only took us to known haunted sites in Key West, but also gave us a history lesson which was great! I didn't have my phone, so he even suggested I go back to the places later. It was worth every penny. Thank you!

Thank You for joining us on the Tour! We do try to pack as much history as well as the ghostly history into each evening! There's only so much we can cover in 90 minutes, and each night is a unique experience! Thanks for taking part and I'm glad to hear hear you had a great time!

Let me start off by saying I WAS NOT expecting to be jumped out at by actors in costume-this is not a haunted house and we knew that. That being said, it was simply ok. The guide was very difficult to hear at our starting point and this continued through most of the night. We also had a few rude people in our group that wouldn't shut it, and the guide never said anything to them so it was hard to hear. They do have mics but they aren't very loud. We began by The Porch and walked through various areas of Key West including the oldest house, St. Paul's cemetery, The Artists HOuse, and The Hard Rock. The problem was it felt like we were just standing around being told stories-you do not go into any of these places. Now, you can't go into the cemetery or B&Bs but the oldest house and the house we begin at seemed like you could at least get inside if the company arranged for it. The stories were neat and the walk wasn't bad, but it was simply just ok.

Thank You for joining us on the Tour! Though we are limited to where we can go inside of buildings, we do go into the garden of the Oldest House and upstairs at the Hard Rock. We also try to keep our groups small, but I agree that sound can be an issue on busy nights. We're working on it and dedicated to making this the best walking tour in Key West! Thank You for your input, it's thoughts like yours that make us realize how can keep on growing and improving our tours!

The tour was great! I loved walking around key west outside the party area! Learning so much about the old building and houses. Ted knew his info. He kept everyone on their toes with stories of hunting! Even if your a non believer this tour still offers a lot, to offer! Thanks Ted for teaching me about old key weird!
