Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour
Check-in for the ghost tour is no later than 8:45 at the corner of Duval and Caroline Street in front of the Porter Mansion on the Duval Street side. There is a small booth just at the entrance to the property, at the beginning of the 300 block of Duval Street, and that is where you will do your check-in. At 9pm the guide will depart and walk you down Rose Lane for an introduction to the tour which includes some Key West history, terminology used when talking about different spirit sightings, instructions on how to take pictures, and general guidelines. Key West is Florida's second oldest city and one of the most haunted locations in the country. From Rose Lane you will walk to the end of the block stopping at the Casa Antigua, Ernest Hemingway's first Key West residence where he fell in love with Key West and wrote "A Farewell to Arms". You will hear what happened in this interesting building and the ghostly story about The Watcher. The tour then moves up to Eaton Street to the Artist House where you will hear the story of the creepy, Robert the Doll and see where he used to live. Next the tour moves to Bahama Street where the oldest graveyard is located in back of Saint Paul's Church. You are invited to use the dowsing rods at this point to try to engage spirit activity. Just past the graveyard is the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home. This stop is where the strange tale of Count Von Cosel and Elana is related. This story is stranger than fiction, but it's all true and documented. You now will wind back around to the La Concha Hotel and hear what happened at the tallest building in Key West. It's a ghostly tale, but not what you probably think. Next the tour moves to the Oldest House and Gardens to explore the grounds at the back of the house, and hear stories about the family who lived here and learn about the many ghostly sightings. This is the most active location on the tour and many guests get pictures on their cameras. Finally, the tour moves inside to hear the chilling tale of a prominent Key West family at their former residence. As the tour concludes, there is time for stories and picture sharing. The tour is interactive and questions are encouraged. The tour ends at 10:30 across the street from where it started.

Ted is a fantastic guide. He made the tour fun and interesting. Ted kept the group engrossed with his detailed accounts of the the history of Key West. My husband had an experience at the theater and i myself felt something at the Hard Rock Cafe. I don't want to give it away and spoil the tour but make sure you go back after hours to the theater! Well worth it! Don't forget your cameras so you can catch the spirits on film like we did! And pick up a copy of Ted's book!

So many choices but we ultimately picked Ghost and Mystery Tour and Ted was an extraoridinary bonus as our guide. He often engaged his group to participate and it was extremely interesting and entertaining. He has done great research and has done some consulting. He has a wealth of stories! Not to be missed! When I called, rhe booking agent said rhey would take up to 90. We almost chose another company but figured slow season would be small number. Ted assured me they would never do 90 in one group but call in more guides. We had approx. 16 people, as I recall. Thank you Ted. If you go early and check, you can go to bar in old house for drink inside or on lovely porch.

Thank You for joining us on the Key West Ghost & Mysteries Tour! Ted does do a Terrific job! (And no we will never take 90 people out on a tour, the booking agent just misread the information form...we probably had that many available spots....but if gets over 20 or 25 we have a backup tour guide). We try to keep it intimate and fun, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Susan was our guide and she was very friendly. We've been to Key West numerous times and we like to do different things every time. We did the ghost trolley tour last time so we decided to try a walking tour. When booking we were told this was a tour that went inside buildings. We thought that was awesome. We had a $3.00 coupon so that was nice. We arrived at the meeting spot and was told where the bathroom was and to start looking around for ghost and to take pictures. Susan said the tour group couldn't all go at the same time because the rooms were to small. We probably had about 25 people in the group. The kids in the group were all up front and ready to listen to the stories and everyone stood in a circle. Susan carried an album around and was showing pictures of ghost as evidence that the other side existed. It was old and blurry and being skeptics we were not impressed. There are so many ways to debunk a picture. She should scan them an put it on an I-Pad. We started to walk and stop by a church and again Susan told everyone to take pictures, This was the theme of the tour. After the 3rd stop my husband lost interest and he and a couple of guys left. A couple of the girls and I decided to finish out the tour. The tour went by a cemetery area and finished up at Hard Rock where she gave us her business cards to submit pictures. The tour did go inside a building as promised but we didn't do anything with the haunted space. Susan was difficult to hear and stories just didn't have any umph to it.The stories were very bland and we stood in places to long. The admission price was fair so it wasn't a total lost. If you like taking pictures this is the tour for you. Looking for ghost and good stories...not so much.

Thanks for Joining us on the tour! And I appreciate your input, we are constantly striving to improve and add to our guests experience. I must admit that Susan has been encouraging guest to take more photos late, because in the last month or so we've had a number of guests capture some amazing photos! It's been quite active and our guests always enjoy the fact that it was a picture they captured themselves on their camera! It's not just something we show them that happened in the past that we're showing them. Each night is unique, which keeps it exciting for our guests and guides as well! Thanks again for joining us!
