Overall our trip was great, though there were definitely some aspects of the park experience that could use improvements. On the positive side, we visited for our daughter’s 6th birthday and she was definitely in the right age for the park. She also has a peanut allergy and we had absolutely zero issues finding safe foods for her – every stand/restaurant had a QR code to an allergen menu and in our case, everything seemed to be peanut free. It was a rare experience to be able to order basically anything off a menu and not have to worry. The staff members were also very friendly and helpful throughout the park and the hotel, on the allergy side but just in general (for example, several employees complimented kiddo on her face painting that she was very proud of, so she was delighted). We also stayed in the hotel and that was fine, plenty to do to keep kiddo entertained. The room was clean and having a mini fridge and a coffeemaker in the room made our lives much easier, and our daughter enjoyed the scavenger hunt for the safe in the room.
On the negative side, getting on rides was brutally inefficient. In some cases, there was only 1 employee for the ride so the process of getting in, getting harnesses checked, and riding was horrendously slow and then the ride itself was very short. In other cases (fire academy), 2 of the 6 trucks were out of commission, which slowed down yet another ride with just 1 employee. The park is definitely new and trees are scrawny and young, so shade is hard to come by. We had the souvenir refillable cups but getting the voucher fulfilled was a challenge in itself, and then in one of the dedicated refill stations, 2 of 3 freestyle machines were out of order. Many of the shops didn’t open right away, either. We got in the park as soon as it opened both days and had to keep circling back to see if places had opened yet. We visited over Memorial Day Weekend and the park didn’t seem wildly full, but we definitely didn’t bother with as many rides as we could have because the lines were so inefficient. We didn’t bother with the waterslides in the park because that line wasn’t moving and people were frustrated. We opted for the hotel pool instead and that was a nice experience.
