Excellent tour. Robert and Jessica were a phenomenal guides. Highly recommend. The summit and star grazing were the highlight.

Truly an eye opening tour of Hawaii's highest point and also our place in the universe. The tour guides are knowledgeable (constellations + the volcano) and make sure you have a good time. Gloves and coat are provided, and are appreciated - it's sooo cold up 13,800 feet! The photos are INSANE! They make sure you get a good one which is kind, before you start looking at the 250x zoom telescope! You could save money instead by hiring a car and going up yourself, but you will definitely miss out on a lot of learning, someone taking photos for you of the sunset + stars, and then a detailed stargazing talk with a magnificient telescope.

The experience is very good. You get to the summit that offers spectacular views and are able to see the observatory. The guides were very nice, providing clothes, food, attention and information as needed. The stargazing activity is also good, the location is incredible. However, I felt dissapointed as the images we saw through the telescope were not real. They are just slides they put and they fake it pretending to let you know you are looking at the galaxy/stars through it... Anyone with a little experience on telescopes can easily tell that. I undestand that the telescope takes time to adjust, that requires expertise and that maybe on cloudy days it may not work as expected. But the activity overall, and even without this part is still great. I would have given it 5 stars if it were not because of that. I do not think there is a need to cheat people...
