Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

This is a 4 hour all inclusive tour, including 2 hours paddling around the Mendenhall Lake to see the Mendenhall Glacier and experience the wild of Alaska in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

Our entire tour takes place in Tongass National Forest. We bring guests out to the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area to the West Side Glacier Parking area. This is where our tour gears up, goes over safety and paddling instructions and starts our paddle to the Mendenhall Glacier- all located in the Tongass National Forest.

Forget all the other tours, if you are in Juneau and you want a genuine glacier experience this is the only one to book. We went in May 2024 and had the best time, both on the lake and getting up close to the glacier (not 100's of meters from it, or flying over it). Justin and Riley were amazing, friendly, knowledgable, kept us safe and dry...+ a sea shanty. We have been all over the world and this is in my top 3 activities. Book it, you won't regret it. (chuckle when your friends show you their photos from a distance).

This was an amazing shore excursion! You get to go super close to the glacier and get a slight workout, too. They give you plenty of breaks so you aren’t tired of paddling, and you are given multiple snacks. We had AMAZING STAFF for our paddle. Sophie, Ryley, and Molly taught us so much about the glacier and Juneau in general, while keeping things fun and entertaining. Finally, at the end of the paddle, you are given a nice warm drink. Luckily, it didn’t really get too cold and we stayed dry with the waterproof gear they offered. This was definitely worth the time and money. 10/10 recommend.
