Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

This is a 4 hour all inclusive tour, including 2 hours paddling around the Mendenhall Lake to see the Mendenhall Glacier and experience the wild of Alaska in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

Our entire tour takes place in Tongass National Forest. We bring guests out to the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area to the West Side Glacier Parking area. This is where our tour gears up, goes over safety and paddling instructions and starts our paddle to the Mendenhall Glacier- all located in the Tongass National Forest.

Sophie and Devyn were awesome! My family had such a great time on the canoe tour. Sophie kept us all entertained while we were paddling, and both of them were super friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

Our day started off a little rough. We received a phone call 15 minutes before our dog sled/helicopter tour was supposed to leave saying that it had been cancelled. We turned around and immediately ran into a kind woman asking if we needed help. We sure did. She suggested the Liquid Alaska Tours to us and we took her up on it right away. Our tour included a 2.5 mile canoe trip, each way, then a hike to the Mendenhall Glacier. It was such a great experience. Mike and Dawson were kind and encouraging the whole way. They also made sure to pepper in jokes and breaks, which made the burning in my shoulders less noticable (haha). We took the attitude that stuff happens for a reason and it totally worked out for us in this case.

This was by far the highlight of our trip. The glacier is incredibly beautiful and Justin, our amazing guide, got us really close so the photos were simply beyond words. The hot drink at the end of the tour was a terrific touch and really hit the spot. Thank you Justin and Liquid Alaska Tours for making a once in a lifetime experience truly memorable. I would highly recommend a tour with Liquid Alaska tours, you will definitely have an incredible time.
