Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

This is a 4 hour all inclusive tour, including 2 hours paddling around the Mendenhall Lake to see the Mendenhall Glacier and experience the wild of Alaska in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.

Our entire tour takes place in Tongass National Forest. We bring guests out to the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area to the West Side Glacier Parking area. This is where our tour gears up, goes over safety and paddling instructions and starts our paddle to the Mendenhall Glacier- all located in the Tongass National Forest.

One of the best canoe experiences! The glacier view was amazing, especially because it had calved just the day before and the vibrant blue was simply divine! Sophie and Jordan, our tour guides were so knowledgeable, courteous and oh-so-funny!!! They made it very personal and special. Thank you both!💕 Highly recommend this tour.

A beautiful day canoeing out to the glacier with our guides Dawson and Sophie. Got to get up close and see the glacier and the waterfall. While it is a paddle, our guides insight along with jokes and energy kept us motivated!

Mike was a SPECTACULAR guide for our family of five. He spent time reviewing all of the details and making sure we were safe. He was pleasant and funny and knew exactly how long we could pause at each stop. We were incredibly impressed with his knowledge of the glacier, the birds and every type of tree in the the surrounding forest. We learned so much about how a forest re-grows after a glacier moves. We had to paddle hard because it was windy but he cheered us on and motivated us. Mike is a gifted educator and you are lucky to have him on your team.We also loved that your company goes to a much less traveled area of the Glacier. This was the highlight of our trip.
