Island Wings takes the time and makes the effort to help you realize your Alaskan dreams. Share our love of flying through our vast Alaskan wilderness. Experience the freedom of flight over the wild grandeur of the mountains, the islands and the endless sea. Our focus is the quality of your experience. From the handling of your reservation, to the equipment we operate, to the places we visit; we don't compromise and neither should you. The total time for this tour is 2.5 hours including: the two hour flightseeing tour and fifteen minutes for the pick-up and fifteen minutes for the drop-off. This tour takes you on a flight from Ketchikan to the Misty Fjords National Monument with a landing on a freshwater lake or a saltwater fjord with approximately a thirty minute stopover.

I can’t say enough about Island Wings Air Service. When we arrived for our tour, the weather conditions in the Misty Fjords were not safe for flying. After taking to Michelle, we decided to go on an alternate flight path and it was FANTASTIC! I was really appreciative of their honesty, attention to safety, and for providing us options. Long story short - even if you can’t fly over the Misty Fjords, do the alternate tour! The scenery was unbelievable. Captain Adam was our pilot and he was amazing. He was super knowledgeable of the area, an incredible pilot, and made the trip a lot of fun. It was an absolute highlight of our trip and something we will never forget. We will definitely be back for another adventure with Island Wings!

The Misty Fjords Seaplane tour was the highlight of our time in Alaska. We were on a cruise so only had a few hours but the Island Wings team ensured we would make it back to our boat in time with pickup and drop off. The flight takeoff and landing was so smooth we didn’t realize we were even flying. At one point, the pilot mentioned that due to the reflection on the water that this was one of the most difficult landings for pilots but as a passenger, our pilot Michelle made it look so easy we were very confident in her flying abilities. The fight itself over the fjords was MAGICAL & Breathtaking! The views were incredible, photo opportunities endless and our pilot was very informational teaching us about the area. We landed halfway and we’re able to get out at a glacial lake and walk around before heading back. We got to enjoy the fjords, enormous waterfalls, and overall INCREDIBLE experience. Note: we went on a clear dry day in September so it was perfect weather, this area of Alaska is considered temperate rainforest so it does rain often which could impact views from the plane. I’d personally still go even with rain as it was just incredible regardless. Highly recommend and will do again when we come back to Alaska.

Our air tour over the Misty Fjords National Monument was the highlight of our trip! The company is run by a woman who is a long-term resident of Ketchikan and offered a friendly and efficient ride in the spacious seaplane. Everyone had an unobstructed view out their window. Great for taking photos and enjoying all the sites along the way. The highlight was landing on a mountain lake and gliding across the smooth water to a gentle landing on the shoreline. We got out and stretched our legs and took in the serenity of being the only visitors in the area. Highly recommend this company!!!
