Tips:
1. Great way to see the main sights of the city at an elevated view if you have limited time and not on any type of schedule.
2. Not great if you have reservations and need time reliable transportation. Pick up times are unpredictable and the bus attendants are unsure of pick up times as well. The city bus and subway had a more reliable time table (we used the MyTransitNYC app).
3. Depending on what line you are on (red, blue, night, etc) the bus wait times vary. We waited 45 minutes for the blue bus on a Thursday afternoon.
4. Purchase your tickets online, prices are less than paying at the pick-up locations.
5. The night bus departing at 8:30pm had great views of the city at sunset atop the Manhattan Bridge (sit on the top right side of the bus). The bus driver drives slow enough so that you get a great panoramic view of the city and the Brooklyn Bridge.
6. The stops are near and walking distance from most interest points, however it could take 45min to 1hr from pick point 1 to Battery Park on the red line. Plan accordingly.
Overall, this bus may be good for someone who wants to see the main sights of the city and has no set schedule or reservations. Consider other forms of transportation if you have to be somewhere at a specific time (ie. bus, cab, subway, etc).
