The app wouldn't download, then the driver who didn't speak English well wanted me off the bus as supposedly I hadn't paid for a 2 day ticket. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, hopeless. Couldn't book the Statue of Liberty boat tour as I didn't have the app but was told that was OK because it wouldn't be booked out. Myself and another 100 people some who booked were turned away at 1pm because the boat was full. I had to leave the next morning so chose to walk away however some with little kids sat down on the concrete waiting for 2 hours for the next boat. Who knows if they got on. I normally do Big Bus, I won't make this mistake again and book Big Bus. Don't go here!

5 of our family took this New York TopView sightseeing tour on December 8, 2019 and paid $49 each plus convenience fee for a total of $255. Our experience was bad from the get-go! The bus driver did not give us ear phones as we boarded the bus nor inform us that a recorded narrative was available for the tour. We were on the upper deck and knew of this when some of our fellow passengers told us. By that time, the bus was on its way and we didn't risk going down to the lower deck when the bus was moving. After we got off at the Tower Memorial and visited the Memorial, we walked to Times Square and to the Rockefeller Center and returned to the 46th St/7 th Ave Rockefeller Center stop to board the bus at about 8 pm. We waited in the cold for 45 min without spotting a TopView bus although this was an advertised bus stop. I called the customer support number and got a voice message that no one was available to take the call. I left a message complaining that we were standing for almost an hour without seeing a bus. About then, a TopView bus came by but was in the third lane from the bus stop and went on its way without stopping! We then had to hail a cab to get to Pennstation at a cost of $30, so that we could make the train back home. Horrible experience, avoid this tour company at all costs! I disputed the entire charge of $255 through my credit card company but TopView would not refund this or any part of it, and did not even offer an apology.

On one hand, viewing New York from an open top bus is a brilliant why to see all the sights. However, the bus was filthy, it was packed so much so that some understandably annoyed people couldn't board at certain stops and seemed to spend ages sat at other stops for no good reason. The sales team on the street were pushy and the staff on the bus sullen and lacking even a simple smile or hello.Whilst arguably more pleasant than the subway, I didn't feel it was value for more and regretted getting a cab instead.
