Thank you, Ronn and Marketa, for sharing your tremendous expertise and talents with us. We learned so much! Both of you are a wealth of knowledge. We would recommend this excursion to all, and as early in your stay in Fairbanks as possible to get the most benefit from their extraordinary knowledge and experience. No other excursion guides taught us nearly as much about what we were seeing and experiencing than Ronn and Marketa and they made a wonderful team. They also went to great lengths to ensure we got the best photos of the aurora. Thank you, also, for accommodating our "Flat Stanley" doll: our young grandchild is going to be thrilled with the "portrait". Speaking of portraits, what a great souvenir: our portraits in front of the bright and beautiful aurora. Do this excursion above all others; you won't be disappointed. It was nice to be able to get warm in their cozy Mercedes van, but remember: there are no bathrooms, so be prepared to "hold it" for a few hours. All in all, a perfect, excellent adventure. Tell your friends and family! Thank you again, Ronn and Marketa.

I held off writing this review until I did a tour the following night with one of the other tour operators. There is no comparison. Ronn and Marketa are top notch. Very personable and knowledgeable. There was a Make A Wish kid with us that night. You know they aren’t going to send a kid on a trip with somebody that isn’t good. The van they pick you up in is great. It is rigged with a TV screen from which they deliver power point demonstrations on how to set up your camera, AND the science behind the Aurora. Ronn is a camera nerd for lack of a better term. He could remember just about every camera that everyone had and walk them through their settings screens from memory. This was all done during the road time so that little time was wasted at the viewing sites. He spent time with those that needed it the most, and left the ones alone that did not require much help. I had a rental package and it was painless. Already set up, just turn it on and shoot. They bagged and re-bagged it at each stop. You got 2 very knowledgeable friendly tour guides to make sure you had a pleasurable time. I plan on coming back in 3 years and would use them again. The cost a bit more, but you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and book the Mercedes, not the Kia.

Our trip to Fairbanks was explicitly to see the Aurora. Our first night was too overcast, even though the aurora activity was high. Ronn and Marketa took us out a couple days later and SUCCESS! We saw the lights, and they are everything you hope they would be. We wouldn't have been as successful if we went on our own, and we definitely would not have gotten all the education about the aurora or how to photograph the lights if we were solo. Ronn and Marketa are great hosts, smart and funny, and make the late night excursion a discovery worth every penny.
