Great way to see Central Park- recommend getting there early as there were queues waiting for returned bikes when we got back to the store. Highly recommend.
Great way to see central park. Had a lot of fun. They only gave us one lock for two bikes and that ended up being difficult just doesn't fit. So be sure to ask for one lock per bike ... it'll save you some time/headache. Beautiful park tulips and other flowers in the park in the spring. The loop around the park is one way - FYI.
We booked our rental the week prior to going. We arrived at the shop about 2:00pm to pick up our bikes we rented 5 for a 3 hour block. The line to check in was long, but they moved us quickly through and had no problems with the eticket on my phone to locate our reservation. They set us up with all our bikes, and found a smaller one for my 12 year old to ride, helmets, and locks. We were going to Central Park a couple blocks away so we walked our bikes the couple blocks to get there, otherwise you have to ride on the street with the cars and crazy drivers and we didn't want to do that! The ride through the park was great. The three hours flew by! The only thing I didn't like was there were no bike racks to lock bikes to. You just had to find a spot off the path and lock them all together if you wanted to take a minute and look around. Bikes are only allowed on bike paths and so some of the smaller paths you have to lock your bike and walk through them. It wasn't horrible, but it did take time to ride and park and lock them up for 10 minutes and then go again for a bit. We would definitely do this again. Was a really fun afternoon ride through the park and we got to see the lower half from Belvedere Castle down. Did a giant loop and then cut across the middle. Return of the bikes was also really simple and quick and staff was friendly.
