I had read other reviews of people's terrible experiences with groupon or discount vouchers, but silly me, I was trying to be thrifty and thought maybe I'd be different.
Well, for our anniversary we booked a long weekend to Orcas Island, and we made sure our time/date trip was available for the whale watching boat tour before buying vouchers.
We were well within the "restrictions" listed for the vouchers. However, when I tried to redeem my vouchers and book our trip, it came up as "sold out".
(You'll notice on their website you can 'book trip' or 'redeem voucher and book')
I called to ask about this difference and apparently they only allow a few spots a day for voucher-holders.
This seems a bit ridiculous to me when their site still shows they have 10+ spots available, but I was told if I want that day/time then I would have to book it for full price.
I told my husband I'd rather pay full-price and go with a less shady company. Hoping I can return my vouchers.
I agree with a previous poster: no one is forcing the company to offer discount vouchers, so if you're going to do it, don't be discriminatory to those of us who actually buy them.
