This is not good value if your arrival airport is Newark, NJ as there are a number of tolls on the way which get added to the journey cost. This, as well as the mandatory tip the driver adds on made it almost the same cost of what had already been paid prior.
We were disappointed with our pick up, we telephoned Carmel asking if we could be picked up at 2.30p.m. instead of 5p.m., they agreed and said they would be at Holiday Inn Express in 15 mins. We waited at least 30 mins, telephoned and the driver apparently had gone to the wrong hotel. Eventually about an hour later the taxi turned up. The driver wasn't particularly friendly and told us we had to sign a form for $68, no way as we had already paid in the U.K. he wasn't pleased and said we should telephone his boss at Carmel, we asked him to phone, which he did and I spoke to the boss who informed me we had to pay the toll, which we agreed, plus a tip, which we agreed. The driver still insisted we sign for $68, I refused. We didn't go through a toll but gave the driver a good tip. Some one with Carmel has their facts wrong. We were disappointed with our return journey due to this incident hence the low rating. A shame as we've used Viator on several ocassions in the past for transfers and has been good.
The transfer company was great! Very punctual, clean vans and friendly drivers. Definitely recommend booking through Viator!
