Captain Mike is a "cool dude". Those are the exact words from my 22 and 20 year old sons after a 6 hour fishing trip with Captain Mike. We live in Florida and have fished off shore most of our lives, so it was a unique experience to get to fish for Halibut and Salmon in Alaska. I started researching excursions right after I booked our Princess cruise for June. I can personally tell you that there is a reason why The Alaska Catch has 5 star reviews. Captain Mike is professional, knowledgeable and has a great fishing boat. Although no one can guarantee you will catch anything, I can say that Captain Mike worked hard to get us on the fish. His efforts yielded 4 large Halibut and 2 King Salmon (one was slightly under limit so he got to swim another day). If you are looking for a memorable fishing trip, go with The Alaska Catch!

Just got back from an awesome trip with Captain Mike. We only had five hours in port, and Mike was great to work with to accommodate our short window. We had hoped to fish for some salmon, but they were not running well yet, so Mike offered us the choice of trying for salmon, which were not hitting on the morning trip, or to go after some halibut. We chose to go for the halibut, and it was a great choice. We caught plenty of fish and had a great experience with Captain Mike. I would definitely recommend a trip with Mike. He goes above and beyond to get you on the fish. No worries about getting back to the boat in time. Captain Mike was very aware of the time and had us back in plenty of time for pictures and getting the paperwork completed for shipping the fish home. Captain Mike took care of getting our "Alaskan Catch" to the processor after dropping us off back at our ship. We were a group of three couples with little fishing experience, and Captain Mike was so awesome in explaining things and helping us through the whole trip. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that Captain Mike must have used a better bait for the women's poles as they way out caught the men!! (HA) So glad we found Captain Mike!!

A day out on the water with Captain Mike, was one of the top highlights of our trip to Alaska; and was definitely the best fishing trip we've ever had! Mike loaded us up with so much information about the local fishing scene, commercial fishing scene, local Ketchikan info, and general Alaska knowledge. His boat was immaculate, gear was great, and he sure led us on to the fish. We had a non stop 6 hour trip on the water with him; we hooked into 16 halibut, one keeper king salmon, and a rock fish. We all left the trip feeling like we made a life long friend. Thanks again Mike and look forward to future trips!
