Capt. Mike meet us at the dock upon our arrival and we had a short few hundred yard walk to his boat. We bought our fishing license online as he suggested and so were off to fish after a 5 minute or so overview of the boat and safety features. I had zero expectation for catching anything, figured we'd be with a young guide who's job was to just troll next to all the other fishing excursions. Boy was i wrong!!! Capt. Mike is a true guide with a love for the "Hunt" in finding / catching fish. He suggested we go about 15 miles out, we agreed as he was the expert, and after about 15 minutes of fishing we caught our first then the assault was on! We did not rest much for the next 2 hours. We were doubled up 4 different times and landed 2 doubles! In the end we had 15 in the cooler, limited out with 12 silvers plus caught 3 pinks. If limiting out was not enough, on the way to the packer we saw a humpback, 3 orca and a bald eagle. What a fantastic day, thank you Capt. Mike, I'll be back for a halibut trip next time! If you're looking to fish in Ketchikan, look no farther than Capt. Mike at The Alaska Catch!! While there are no guarantees, he will do all he can to get you on the fish!

I am so thankful I found Captain Mike and the Alaska Catch on this website. Was looking for a halibut fishing excursion during a cruise stop in Ketchikan. Captain Mike is experienced, professional and considerate. My dad who is in his 70's had halibut fishing on his bucket list and Captain Mike made that happen. We caught our limit of halibut along with a couple other keeper species. If I am ever lucky enough to make it back to Ketchikan I would not hesitate to book with Alaska Catch and Captain Mike again.

We hired Captain Mike to take my father, brother, and I on a Halibut Charter while we were in port with our cruise ship. Capt. Mike met us as we disembarked from our cruise ship, escorted us to his waiting boat nearby (only about a 250 yard walk), and took us on an incredible fishing trip. He was a great guide and put us on some very nice Halibut. Capt. Mike works very hard to ensure he provides his clients with an enjoyable trip and to put fish in the boat! I would highly recommend Capt. Mike to anyone looking to try their hand at some Alaskan styled fishing. I will be going back and using him again.
