Caption mike was great. We caught 18 fish. He was knowledgeable and catered to every need. He was also substantially less expensive than booking through the cruise. Highly recommend Mike and this trip. I would rebook him again without a second thought .

We visited Ketchikan in mid August and my kids were very excited about salmon fishing. We had initially booked a trip with our cruise but after some research decided to rebook directly with a captain of our choice. We were able to book a trip for cheaper and without a bus ride. After reading the online reviews, we decided to select Alaskan Catch. Captain Mike, owner operator, met us at the dock at 715 am and after a five minute walk we were at his boat. He was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He had drinks and snacks available for us just in case we had not had a chance to eat. After about a 30 minute ride we started to fish. Within the first 10 minutes we my youngest son caught his first fish. The day ended up being even better than we expected. We caught 14 pink salmon. We almost had a rock fish as well. Captain Mike was great managing the boat, helping pull in the fish and provide us with answers to our questions. I could not have been happier that we selected Captain Mike. He also suggested a place for shipping our salmon. Overall a very good experience and my boys loved it!!!!!

We went with Captain Mike salmon fishing during the Pink and Coho Salmon run. He did an excellent job telling us what to expect and do during this trip. He was incredibly personable and a lot of fun to hang out with for the day. He maximized the amount of time our rods were in the water to give us the best chance to get the most possible fish in the boat (we ended up with 11 salmon). We are pretty new to fishing, first time salmon fishing, and he was an excellent guide. He had our fish smoked and shipped back to us promptly. He had lots of snacks and drinks, and the boat was well prepared and clean. We would absolutely go fishing with him again next time we make it to Alaska.
