Great trip and highly recommend. Daniel from XO Adventures was a great guide. Getting a tour is a must. I would never try to traverse Custer State Park, Iron Mountain Road, Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore area on my own. Lots of dirt roads to traverse and most roads are very narrow. The guides know where to go.

Thank you for the review Gary! Yes the roads can be tricky and it’s easy to get turned around. Fortunately our vehicles can go where the big busses can’t, which increases the amount of wildlife and views you can see. I agree without a guide you may see some beautiful things, but not really know what you’re looking at without the context. I really enjoyed the day with you both and hope you decide to come back again!

Ashley was our guide and she was a true pleasure to spend an entire day with touring Mt.Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road & Crazy Horse. We learned so much as she is very knowledgeable about the history and the area. And she drove that van thru the mountains like a pro! Bonus was a gourmet picnic lunch in a beautiful setting. We highly recommend this Private Tour. 👍👍

Thank you Candace! We’re so happy you had a great time and learned quite a bit in the process! We’re very fortunate to have Ashley as a guide for My XO Adventures. She loves nature, history, biology, geography and much more. She keeps us on our toes and we sharpen each other’s skill. As I’m sure you found out she has a great personality too. I’m also grateful you enjoyed the picnic lunch. We do our best to make every moment a great experience. I sincerely appreciate you taking a moment to write a review. Between here and on Google it’s what helps us grow. Being the smallest private tour company in the Hills each and every review means the world! I wish you safe travels and hope you come back again to visit our little slice of heaven!

We planned our trip for the first full day of vacation so we could learn more about the area. We enjoyed the tour with our guide Ashley; she was very knowledgeable about a host of topics - from trees and plants, to the various animals and the history of the locations and attractions we visited. Ashley made sure we were able to see the bison and she shared background stories that we didn’t hear in the museums. She also told us about the neighboring towns and gave us recommendations for other things to do and see in the area during the rest of our trip. Also a shout out to Daniel who emailed answers to our pre-visit questions. We would highly recommend XO Adventures!
