Once we exited the Cruise Ship, we were met right outside the exit ramp. The person we needed to meet was holding a sign with a big Rainbow on it, can't miss it. Escorted us to a bus which drove us to the ferry. Took the ferry trip to Haines. We then were met with another Rainbow sign outside of the ramp and walked to the area to get rain boots. Took a bus out to the launching point. Our tour guide Steve took our family of five down the river on a raft. It was a very private tour down the river, just Steve and our family. No white water so no real danger of falling in or getting wet. Steve was very knowledgeable about the environment, the history of the river, and Haines. He encouraged questions which I took full advantage of.
Great bang for the buck and safe. A basic brown bag lunch was provided and they were very aware of the time to ensure you get back to the ferry when needed. Although we only saw eagles, really enjoyed the private tour down the river.
