This is a small group rafting and scenic driving tour through the famous Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve with a scenic float trip (no whitewater) through the home of the largest bald eagle congregation in the world. Thousands of bald eagles travel here to feed on salmon in the fall and winter. In spring and summer watch for eagles nesting and raising their young.

A pleasant, safe float with an informed guides. Great sighting of trumpeter swans. Our guides pointed out some large bear tracks on one of the sand bars. Learned the history of the native Klukwan village that we floated by. A bit chilly & windy but well worth seeing the beautiful scenery all around!

Thanks for this great review. I like that you call it a "great family float", because it truly is. This is not. a whitewater trip but a floating journey into a pristine natural area. Our minimum age is 7 for kids. I'm glad you mentioned the swans. There is a healthy population of trumpeter swans in the Chilkat Valley. This year, we have a pair nesting right along the scenic Haines highway. Since we had time, we were able to add a stop to the tour for some great views. We like having that kind of flexibility. It is always good to dress in layers on tours in Alaska because the weather changes quickly here. When you are prepared, you can enjoy yourself even if it is windy and chilly like it was yesterday. The owner Joe was able to accommodate my large family group and keep us all together. He was a great source of information and a ton of fun. Amazing trip and would recommend to anyone who would like to experience the untamed Alaskan wilderness by raft.

Thanks so much for this kind review. We had a great time out on the river and it is always nice to have a family group. Our raft trip does take you into the wilderness and I figure that is one of the main reason folks like you come to Alaska. Our goal is to make the wilderness safe, accessible and fun and that's what we did!

This was my favorite tour in Alaska. The kayak ride was so peaceful and calm on this particular day. Saw to many eagles to even count! Salmon were also running. Our guide (Rich) was amazing, full or energy and wonderful history. We are in our 60's and have kayaked many times, so this was no problem. Even if you have never kayaked, I think you would have no trouble. Don't hesitate, book this tour. Great adventure for all ages.

Thanks for this positive review but it is for the wrong company. The kayak tour is now offered through SEAK expeditions of Haines, Alaska.
