I almost forgot I had booked it n rushed to get to Harvey Milk Plaza for the 9am start but Kathy waited with the tour group & then continued the tour with such passion & interest in the subject. I teared up listening to the stories & seeing the different spots that she stopped & shared her vast knowledge. She also encouraged me to get more involved in my community in Sydney & told me how the Castro Rainbow Crossing was inspired from Sydney a few years back when Sydney painted a crossing in the rainbow flag colours (see the Picture attached) this has unfortunately not been repeated & Kathy said that I should encourage the Mardi Gras n Sydney Council to do it more often! She also allowed tour participants to share their own stories n told of previous tours whilst keeping the tour fun and entertaining. I was so moved and inspired I want to come back and hear more stories n see the next inductee on the rainbow honour walk & see who's in The Waiting Room!? Kathy your passion & Enthusiasm was Amazing & I can't wait to see you again next time I come back to San Francisco!

Kathy Amendola is a fun, informative tour guide on this walking tour of The Castro. From city history to neighborhood history, Kathy is a great source of information. She makes the tour fun and educational. If you have children, Kathy does provide a warning that this tour might not be for them. When I am in San Francisco again, I plan on taking this tour again.

We very much enjoyed the Castro walking tour. We found Kathy very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned allot about LGBTQ history and it was also interesting to hear the experiences of the other people on the tour. I would recommend the tour to anyone, not only LGBTQ visitors to San Fran. I thought it was my favourite part of our visit to San Francisco and we were also grateful for the restaurant and bar suggestions Kathy gave us. Claire & Heather Scotland
