My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Lindsay, was phenomenal. She provided lots of great history about Sitka and the local wildlife. We weren't really crazy about the first part of this tour that stopped at the totem poles, since that is easy to do on your own. But the drive out to the see the bears was beyond worth it. The drive itself is beautiful, and we stopped along the road to admire the scenery. Lindsay gave us a ton of great information about everything we saw along the way -- all of it was fascinating. Once at the Fortress of the Bears, we had about 25 minutes to see the bears and listen to a presentation about their origin. This amount of time felt about right, given the facility houses 9 or 10 bears.
